Tabitha Brown

Kean University will welcome actress and author Tabitha Brown to share her inspiring message of positive change on Monday, January 29 as part of the President’s Distinguished Lecture Series.

“As we begin a new semester at Kean University, and kick off our Black History Month celebrations, we welcome Tabitha Brown to enlighten the Kean community with her encouraging outlook and powerful message,” said Kean President Lamont O. Repollet, Ed.D. “She is both a well-known actress and a successful business leader, and I know our students and others will have much to learn at this exciting event.”

The lecture, which is open to the public, will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, January 29, in the North Avenue Academic Building at Kean’s main campus in Union. Tickets are free for Kean students, faculty and staff but must be reserved in advance. Tickets are $20 for Kean alumni and the public.

The Kean President’s Distinguished Lecture Series brings thought leaders and newsmakers to the Kean community through events and lectures featuring artists, journalists, scientists, and other notable speakers. Past Distinguished Lecturers have included Deaf actress Lauren Ridloff, theoretical physicist Michio Kaku, CNN news anchors Dana Bash and Abby Phillip, and cast members of the groundbreaking TV sitcom A Different World.

Darlene Repollet, a former corporate human resources executive, will moderate this event.

A vegan foodie and media personality, Brown has 13 million-plus followers on social media and is host and an executive producer of the children’s show Tab Time. She is renowned for her TV success as a cast member of the Showtime drama The Chi. She showcases her wholesome, upbeat personality in her four books, including her newest, an encouraging blueprint for personal change.

Born in North Carolina, Brown is a wife, mother and the co-founder and CEO of her own healthy haircare line, Donna’s Recipe; has launched multi-category product lines with major retailer Target; and brings sunshine to kitchens everywhere with her signature McCormick seasonings blends and mixes.

Following her “fireside chat” conversation, Brown will take questions from the public and sign copies of her book.
